Moving in Las Vegas? Hottest Neighborhoods to Check Out

Las Vegas is a pretty great place to live. While it’s mostly known for the iconic Vegas strip, there is plenty more to Las Vegas than what meets the eye. Living here gives you the perks of a big city – lots of restaurants, shows and music venues – as well as plenty of small, quiet neighborhoods.

Nevada is also known to have a low cost of living, mild weather and no state income tax. This makes Las Vegas an affordable and practical place to live whether you’re just starting out or looking to retire. Below are some of the hottest neighborhoods to consider in your search and the features we love most about each!

Summerlin

There is a bit of a rivalry between the west and east sides of Las Vegas. Many real estate agents in the area give the edge to Summerlin – it’s rated #1 for Best Communities in Las Vegas and #4 in the US. It’s also one of the top 10 master planned communities in the world, receiving numerous awards and recognition.

Summerlin has plenty of neighborhoods to choose from, including downtown Summerlin and TPC Summerlin. Both places offer a wide range of homes to choose from, including luxury new construction homes, as well as close access to retail shopping, cafes, workout facilities and even a library.

Henderson

Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada, so there are plenty of neighborhoods to choose from. Some of the best places to live within Henderson include Green Valley Ranch, Green Valley South, Green Valley North and Westgate.

Like Summerlin, Henderson is safe, with a comfortable climate and friendly people. It also features plenty of nice, newer housing communities with good schools. Henderson is about 12 miles from Lake Las Vegas, a private lake that is open to the public for rental. Here you can cruise on a yacht, relax in a paddle boat or float on a pontoon.

Boulder City

If you’re searching for a smaller town to call home, Boulder City is worth a look. It’s ranked as one of the best cities to live in Nevada, with a low crime rate and affordable housing. While there is some new construction in Boulder City, the area does have limitations on how many new homes can be built each year in order to protect the land and small-town feel.

Boulder City is about 30 miles from downtown Las Vegas, so you can still enjoy all that the city has to offer without it being in your backyard. For the days you choose to stay in Boulder City, you can enjoy outdoor recreation at Hemenway Park or Bicentennial Park. And, you’re only about a 15-minute drive from the Hoover Dam!
